Alan Keith Davidson
Australia's Greatest Left-Arm All-Rounder
Davidson is a member of the Sport Australia Hall of Fame and the ICC's Hall of Fame and he was also made a member of the Order of the British Empire in 1964 and awarded an Order of Australia in 1987.

Alan's Story
Alan Davidson certainly doesn't need to much of an introduction however to give some overview of his career here are some quick facts
• Alan played his first 1st grade game for Lisarow Cricket Club in 1943 and after the war played for the Lisarow Ourimbah Cricket Club
• Locally Alan played in our John Bull Shield side & also in numerous representative games against many Sydney First Grade Teams
• He represented Country Week in Sydney aged 18 represented Hunter Valley and despite 5/29, 5/45 & 2/54 in three games was a controversial omission from the Combined Country team.
• He played in Sydney for Northern Districts, in his first year being a member of their first ever 1st Grade premiership in 1948/49 and won the 1st grade bowling average that year as well
• He also played for Western Suburbs from 1952/53 and was a member of 58/59, 59/60 & 63/64 premiership winning teams.
• Alan Davidson had a distinguished Representative Career playing for NSW in the Sheffield Shield from 1949 to 1963 and was an integral part of 10 Shield winning teams in that time.
• Alan Davidson is still the only locally grown Australian TEST player
• His TEST career spanned from 1953 to 1963 playing 44 tests and was the first player to achieve the double of 10 wickets in a match and scoring a hundred in the tied test v West Indies 60/61 in Brisbane.
• He took 186 wickets @ 20.58 and scored 1328 runs @ 24.59 and took 42 catches.
• Alan Davidson will always be a legend of Central Coast Cricket and is a genuine and obvious inductee into CCCA Hall of Fame.
